WE’RE TURNING SAN DIEGO INTO ONE BIG FARM!
THE FOOD GROWN ON YOUR LAND SERVES YOUR NEIGHBORS TOO.
THAT'S WHY WE CALL IT AN URBAN SHARECROP.
MISSION
Good Neighbor Gardens is making real food accessible and affordable by empowering and educating individuals of all ages to participate in the production and distribution of their food locally, collectively, and sustainably in order to create a more thriving earth-connected and interdependent community.
ACTION
We farm yards and teach the practice of growing food to people of all ages. We aggregate the extra harvest and distribute it to neighbors in the city. A portion of the proceeds goes to garden education in urban faming spaces.
01. EDUCATE
–
We work with schools, parents, businesses and community organizations to bring edible garden education to all.
02. GROW FOOD
–
We transform residential yards across San Diego into edible Edens and distribute extra harvest to the community.
03. GET FOOD
–
We aggregate surplus harvest into a bi-weekly harvest share (CSA) of fresh food grown by your neighbors and regenerative farm partners in San Diego.
04. PRACTICE
–
Through our experiential curriculum, our farmhands nurture compassionate stewards of the land.
