CREATE YOUR Ideal back yard farm

Good Neighbor Gardens provides garden installation and consistent maintenance for interested homeowners, affectionately known as The Gracious Neighbor. Since 2013, we have installed over 400 gardens in and around San Diego!

  • As an additional service, our Fabulous Farmhands are available to provide up to 3 hours of labor per week to keep the garden maintained.

  • The harvest team gathers surplus crops from all Good Neighbor Gardens across the county to assemble weekly produce packages, deliver them to our Harvest Share subscribers and replant for the next season.

  • All Gracious Neighbors receive their bi-weekly seasonal Harvest Share at a deep discount.

Mia with Good Neighbor Gardens is a bundle of energy and knowledge! Her team upgraded my garden, new water system, new soil, vegetables, and composter. Mia has taught me how to garden like a real farmer. Understand the insects and what is going on with the soil. I’m so impressed with their services. You will be in good hands and will be thrilled with the outcome of your new garden.” - Cammy, Santa Luz Garden

“I had a great experience working with Mia and Walt to install our new backyard garden. It’s a dream come true for my wife and me. We’re so excited to share it with our 2-year-old daughter. Since we’re new gardeners, we hired Mia to coach us each month. She’s the expert that we need in our corner. And the coaching comes with their “harvest box” of locally grown produce, which is pretty cool too! Love being a part of this community.” Dylan

“Y’all I love our little garden up here! It makes me so proud. And I love GNG and am so appreciative of you guys and all your beautiful work. I buy so many less veggies now just working off what we got out there! Well, between that and the biweekly share bundles.” Lorena, Southpark Garden

Alissa, you've cultivated so much more than food…you're an incredible person and it's been a privilige to bump into you along the journey. -Gene, Winnett Garden

Alissa thank you for all the loving energy you've given to work, the land, and the friendships. It's been wonderful and inspiring meeting, getting to know you, and witnessing you tend the land. - Andrea, Winnett Garden

Santa luz Garden Install

This garden includes an orchard with stone fruit and citrus trees and a berry patch overflowing with strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and strawberry guava. We also set up a composting center where we produce fresh, healthy soil for the plants. We trained the owner of this beautiful garden with our hands-on grow coaching program. Mia goes into the garden two times per month to check on it and make sure it’s thriving!

Our farmhands turned this empty lot into a bounty. After the install, the farm became a teaching garden for aspiring farmhands and gardeners and the location of community events such as a Get Down for an engineering firm. Say hello to our farmhands Nat (pictured with the tomatoes) and Grace (holding the chicken), and Alissa (holding the purple onions).

Southpark Garden Install

Small yard big bounty! This front yard container garden installed in the South Park neighborhood of San Diego yields enough sweet potatoes to feed 20 families among other delicious harvest. One benefit of a small garden like this is the manageable maintenance.
